Kelly Garni was born in Los Angeles in 1957. He lived a nomadic childhood as his family moved up and down the western U. S. from Alaska to Nevada. The family finally settled in Burbank, Califonia in the early '70s. It was here that his artistic side began to develop. The defining moment occurred when he hooked up with a young musical genius, guitarist Randy Rhoads. With Kelly on bass, the two boys soon became respected musicians in the local music scene. By age 13 they were playing the clubs on Hollywood's Sunset Blvd. This was the beginnings of what eventually became chart topping rock group QUIET RIOT.

After a 5 year run with the band, Kelly, now 19 years old decided that he needed to experience life from a different perspective than the stage he had known all through his teenage years. He took an abrupt turn in his life and became a paramedic, working the streets of Los Angeles for 10 years. It was here that a camera made it's way into his hands. One day, his partner brought a camera to work to document the insanity that was a daily part of their lives. Kelly fell in love with the camera, it felt like it belonged in his hands. A quick stop at a pawn shop resulted in the purchase of his own camera. He soon found himself obsessed and spent all his free time either shooting pictures or reading virtually every book on photography at the library. A style and a love for the female form on film began to take on life in the form of fine art prints.
